A Free LG TV Remote App for iPhone

TV Remote is coming soon for iPhone. Email us for a launch notification. This guide previews how to use the app when it is available.

LG smart TVs run webOS, and webOS can be controlled over your home Wi-Fi. That’s all an iPhone needs to replace the Magic Remote.

TV Remote connects directly to the TV. You accept it once on screen, and the app reconnects on its own after that.

What works on an LG TV

LG webOS is one of the most complete platforms in the app:

  • A pointer like the Magic Remote’s, moved with the trackpoint: push further to go faster
  • D-pad, OK, Back, Home, volume, mute and channels
  • Typing from your iPhone keyboard, plus voice search typed into the TV
  • Input switching between HDMI ports, the aerial and other sources
  • Your installed apps in one grid, and what’s currently playing shown at the top
